Tony Smith is the full time owner/skipper of the Christine Anne, a traditional 24 foot
Dorset fishing boat, and
he can offer a wealth of experience in the operation of a fishing charter day boat.
In the past Tony has run the Wave Chieftain, Wey Chieftain & Channel Chieftain out of Weymouth, much of the time fishing closer to France than England. He also did the channel island trips that are now so popular.
These days Tony pursues a more relaxed schedule, while remaining active as a fishing charter skipper, "I retired and moved back to West Bay to continue potting and pleasure fishing, but found that there was strong demand for mackerel and reef fishing trips off the Dorset coast, so I took up the challenge. I now concentrate on fishing for fun and not just filling the freezer up. Having said that, every effort is made to have a good day afloat and we endeavour to keep your catch as fresh as possible, by storing the fish in slush ice as soon as you catch it."
With his potting activities, anyone wanting crab & lobster to supplement their catch will usually be able to purchase these fresh from the store pot.
